BBQ place in state college

more evidence that my mother is not so into being a mother

My parents are going to visit my cousin and his wife in AZ this weekend.

Said cousin and wife do not have any children and thus have spent their lives indulging their own interests (his = playing the piano, semi-professionally; her = taking all types of classes and writing).

"...well, that is what happens when you don't have children. You have a lot of time to do other things."

"Buuuut, it is worth it to have the children, right?"

"I don't know. I never had experiences without children. I have children."

"Mommy! This is ~not~ what I want to hear right now."

"[chuckle] what? I am just telling the truth..."

"Can I please speak to daddy now?"



But you know...I think she knows that it was worth it to at least have me!

WOW!

not finding anything

Joe and I went to look for apartments in LI this weekend, and came away with nothing. I expected it to be slim pickings, but this was grim. We will venture back mid-June to find and MUST sign something.

But, we did get to visit Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, and it is beautiful. Too bad I won't be going there each day to work by the water.
